The Red Door, Antiques Vintage & More is located on the Boulevard in Historic Old Town Elk Grove. The Red Door specializes in vintage home decor in the French country cottage “shabby chic” style. Understanding how to decorate cottage style homes means including items like antique furniture or reproductions, original and up-cycled flea-market pieces, trunks, chests, armoires, stenciling, antique books. We also carry a selection of vintage and antique silver, dinnerware and jewelry. These elements give cottage style homes the kind of rustic, personal and inviting atmosphere that they are known for. Whether in a seaside setting, an urban environment, a countryside location or a wooded mountain retreat, cottage style homes are cozy and unassuming, combining the past with the present. The Red Door is proud to be an Annie Sloan Stockist. Annie Sloan has a strong commitment to community and only stocks her paint in local shops with trained color experts who have a unique approach to home decoration.
Antique Dealer and Vintage Trailer Applications due by March 10th
Exhibitors are allowed two FREE admissions to the event and MUST be a participant of your space.
Annie Sloan developed her now famous Chalk Paint® to answer the need she had for a paint which would have many uses from acting like limewash to looking like old painted furniture and had a good range of color that could be extended by the user. This paint is very easy to work with and allows people to be creative as one doesn’t get involved with the technicalities of preparation and it also allows you to change your mind without hassle.
Typically this paint requires no priming, no sanding, covers in 1 coat, and dries in 1 hour. It will stick to almost everything, old waxed pine, melamine, metal, and varnished wood included.
